Ginny is a 14 lbs Boston Terrier that came to us with Valentine as part of a cruelty seizure in early February. Her age is estimated at 7 years. Like Valentine, Gin was an absolute mess when she arrived. Unfortunately, she was in even worse shape than Val – she had virtually no fur, open bloody sores all over her body, raging infections in her ears and eyes, extremely itchy skin, etc. And though her body told us she had given birth recently, we weren’t privy to the details of the ongoing cruelty investigation. Fast forward three months, one extended hospitalization, loads of specialized care, and a biologically appropriate diet filled with all the important nutrients she needed to heal… and VOILA, she has blossomed into a curious, laid back little Boston who is learning that people aren’t all bad, and that other dogs are actually pretty fun to have around. Her ears continue to give her trouble - likely the result of chronic, untreated ear infections and hematomas. Her ears will require special care for the rest of her life so interested applicants should be aware of that. Ginny can be a little standoffish with other dogs at first, but as long as they are gentle with her, she warms up to them. She is no longer dependent on Valentine to stick up for her – she handles herself quite confidently these days.
